QCA ICT Schemes of Work

I have prepared an overview of the QCA ICT Schemes of Work at my resources website. Hopefully it is accurate, but let me know if it isn't.

As you know, I am not a fan of the QCA scheme at all because I think it is at least 5 years out of date. Here are some of the things that the scheme doesn't include: Instant messaging, blogging, Wikipedia, social networking, podcasting, web page design, transferring music to MP3 player, editing photos (Photoshop), Windows Movie Maker, Flash animating and Photo Story. The Internet is barely mentioned in the QCA scheme.

Does anyone have a new scheme of work they would recommend? Has anyone already addressed these omissions in school?

It is my plan this year to begin to create a new scheme of work in ICT which is more up-to-date. Help would be really appreciated!

I too am not a fan of the QCA ICT scheme of work. I am the primary ICT coordinator at my school, and I've been spending hours searching for ideas to make it more interesting.
It would be great if there was something out there that included all those things you suggested in your blog.
Please keep in touch if you find anything.

Check out the ITASS SOW, i have used it for a couple of years now and find it one of the best i have come across. It has detailed plans and demo videos for teachers that lack confidence with technology.
the children really enjoy the units and there is something different with every one, there is also a fantastis assessment that goes with it, best of all it's free...

the URL for it all is below:

Hello, just stumbled across this as I was searching for ICT schemes of work and/or updates of the painfully out of date QCA.
I'd also recommend IT@SS but seeing as this blog is a year old already you probably know about all of that!
